Frequently
Asked Questions
Executives Associations have been around for over eighty years worldwide. The purpose of the group is to promote and provide benefit to the businesses represented by our members. We do this by:
Providing weekly leads (any type of new business information that may help fellow members) available only to our membership;
* Referring potential customers and clients to fellow members whenever possible;
* Doing business with fellow members whenever possible;
* Knowing that when a member patronizes a fellow member, he will receive the best possible products and service.
* Sharing ideas, knowledge, experience and information for the benefit of fellow members and the group as a whole.
Our membership is restricted to one member per business category, to prevent conflicts between members. Our criteria is that to be considered eligible for membership, you must conduct a minimum of 60% of your business in a category which does not conflict with the category of any existing member; and your company must have been doing business for a minimum of two years. Main members are owners, managers and decision makers within their firms. |
The membership has a lunch meeting every Friday for the purpose of exchanging leads, information, and business transactions. Programs consist of talks by member firms describing their business and discussing how fellow members can help promote them. A limited number of guests speakers are invited to present topics of general interest to the members. We are governed by member-elected officers and board of directors who plan and administer all meetings. Dues are payable quarterly in advance, and include the luncheon fee for the regular weekly meeting. |
By accepting the responsibility of representing your company as a member firm in the Spokane Executives Association you agree to:
- attend regular weekly luncheon meetings
- discover and pursue practical ways you can assist other members
- encourage, solicit and receive business from member firms
- provide business to other member firms whenever possible
- give leads and act on leads received from other members
- furnish third-party leads and contracts to other firms
- recommend member firms to your own associates, employees, friends and family
|
Membership is limited to one firm in each business and professional classification to avoid competition between members. Classifications are rigidly protected.
Prospective members are generally sponsored by an existing member. All applications are reviewed by the Spokane Executives Association membership committee and board or directors. Applicants are asked to complete a format application and submit an application fee. If you application is not accepted for any reason, your fee will be refunded. Join us for complementary luncheon and see if our association is right for you. |

Weekly luncheons, secretarial service at all meetings - immediate relay of leads of interest to you - the repetition of leads of future general interest, in weekly Leads Sheets and a bulletin program mailed or faxed to you each week. |
"You can't do business from an empty seat". Roughly translated, this means that members are encouraged to attend every Friday Luncheon Meeting - for the good of their individual businesses and the businesses of fellow members. Attendance is monitored and membership may be withdrawn if absence becomes excessive. Of course, there may be times when attendance is impossible. In these cases, a telephone call to the Executive Director will result in an excused absence.
We hope that members will keep the association in mind the at all times as they go about their regular weekly business. Wherever an opportunity to promote, further or benefit any member business presents itself, a good member will take the necessary steps to enable other members to realize those benefits. Of course, other Association members will be doing just that for you and your business, on an ongoing basis.
As the focus of this group is on business, rather than social or community service, the Friday luncheons comprise the bulk of events. However, an annual golf tournament, holiday party, and a few other after hours social events are usually planned each year. |
We encourage prospective members to join us for a complementary luncheon meeting to see if SEA is for you. You may obtain an application at that time.
Once your application form is completed, it may be submitted to the Membership Chairman or the Executive Director along with the $175.00 application fee (which will be returned if you do not join).
You will be contacted by a member of our Membership Committee to review your application. Your application will then come before the Board of Directors at their next regular meeting, which are held on the second Tuesday of each month. The Board will discuss any objections or potential conflicts submitted by members and will review your application to ensure that you meet all criteria. A decision is then made by the board.
Your name and business is then published in our weekly bulletin to give any member who feels there may be a conflict a chance to make their objection.
After your application has been approved, you will be granted full membership privileges. You will be billed on a prorated schedule for that quarter's dues. Currently,. the fees for membership are $245.00 per quarter. This includes the cost of your weekly luncheons. Associate members have an initiation fee of $75.00 and are charged $35.00 per quarter dues.
This does not include the cost of luncheons. |
